Privacy
The short version: we use your details only to count your votes and tell you about films you want back. We never sell them.
What we collect
- Your sign-in: your mobile number or Google account, so each person votes only once per film.
- Your profile, if you fill it in: name, email, home city and the kinds of films you like.
- Your votes and answers: the films you want back, and, if you choose to answer, whether you’d buy a ticket, what you’d pay, how many people would come, and your area.
- Your rough location, only if you allow it: if you let your browser share your location (we use it to find your city), we save it with your vote, rounded to about 1 km. It shows us which neighbourhoods want a film, never your exact address.
- When you last signed in.
- Film requests you send us.
How we use it
- To count votes, and to show how many people in a city want each film.
- To tell you, by SMS, WhatsApp or email, if a film you voted for is coming back to your city. Only the ShowDrop team sees your contact details.
- To show cinemas and the people who decide on screenings how much demand there is. We share totals (for example “800 people in Bengaluru, mostly in Jayanagar”), not your name or number.
What we never do
- Sell your details, or give your number or email to anyone else.
- Send you spam.
Your choices
You can take a vote back at any time. To have your account and details deleted, write to support@showdrop.in from the email or number you signed in with.
Sign-in is provided by Google Firebase. Film posters may come from TMDB.
